Dear Whoever,

My partner and I had to do a project on the fifteen power words. This project was not
easy at first but in the end it was very easy. The power words are a very easy thing to learn.

The first power word we used was analyze. That means to break it down. Also,
summarize which means tell me the short version. For these power words we had to do an
outline. The second power word was Trace which means list the steps. We had to do a video
from a power point for this portion of the project. Another word is evaluate. That means judge.
We had to do a book review for this. We had to do a comic strip for the word infer which means
read between the lines. Describe is another Barber power word that means tell about and
visualize went with that and it means form a mental picture. We had to do graffiti pictures for
this. We made graffiti on Read Write Think.

Now we are on power word number seven. That was predict, what will happen next or
guess. An anticipation guide is what we had to do for this part of the project. Compare and
Contrast are two power words as well. These power words mean tell how two things are alike
and different. Again, we had to go to Read Write Think and make a compare and contrast map.
Advise means recommend and elaborate means tell me more. We had to do a friendly letter to a
future student explaining why this project is important to do. Another word was formulate which
means create. Last but not least, explain means tell how and support means back it up. We had
to write this letter for the last portion.

Now you know the power words and what they mean. You also know what we had to do
for each power word.

Sincerely,

Kayla Harrison
