Profits & Funding
The magazine earns money from:
• People buying the magazine and
subscribing to the magazine
•There are lots of adverts from sports
and cycling companies etc which they
will have been paid to display.
•They have lots of ads telling you how
by being a member of the CTC you can
save money on things such as cycle
insurance, get discount in cycle shops
and online etc. They also charge you to
become a member so they make
money this way too.
•CTC also sell “bikes and bits” which
they will make profit from.
•There is also a website with
advertisements.

I failed to find the owner of CTC on the
website or anywhere clear in the
magazine.
Target Audience
I think that their primary audience is
clearly made up of keen cyclists who
cycle regularly and have great interest in
it.
It may also be aimed at those interested
in sports and or fitness in general.
All the articles are about cycling for
example, cycle routes and competitions.
It is clearly aimed at serious cyclists.
From the pictures in the magazine, I
think that the target audience is
probably adult male dominated as well.
When considering age I would guess that
people from ages 18-50 would be a part
of the readership.
It’s free to CTC members so this is a clear
indication of who the audience are-
cyclists who have invested in their hobby.
Or those Interested buying it as a one off.
