I. Person:

Many different people took part in our American Revolution. Some as leaders,
some as combatants, some as both. In one way or another they all participated
in the incredible events that gave birth to our country. It is important that we
have a general knowledge of the main protagonists. Use the following
questions to guide you in your report:

a. Who was your person? Where did he/she come from? (colony/country)
b. What was their part in the American Revolution? What did they do?
c. Was there something about this person that surprised/intrigued you?
d. If you had an opportunity to ask this person a question or two, what
would it be? Why?

II. Events/Documents
a. When and where did your event take place? (Date, location)
b. Why is this event significant?
c. If the event is a battle, who won?
d. Why is this battle important?
e. If you are researching a document, what is the name of the document?
f. Who wrote/issued it? When (date)?
g. Why was it written/issued?
h. What was the reaction when it was published/known?
i. Why is this document important in the context of the AR?

III. Poster or display Board

You can display both the person and event/document on the same board. You
must include pictures, illustrations, and/or maps. As we are practicing identifying the
main idea in texts, make sure that you include the MOST important details. No Fluff!
All information will be included on the poster board. Be ready to give a 5 minute oral
presentation on both your person and your event/document.
