Dear Rising 8th Graders,

The power words have helped me in many ways like seeing how words
are related to each other. Doing all the assignments made me understand
the book way better than it would have, if I then just reading it. In two
assignments we have to analyze and summarize the key points in the book.
We analyzed the text by creating the outline and we didn’t read the
whole book. We summarized the key points. We had to trace the points
doing the PowerPoint because we had to do all the dates to trace the
process of the Olympics.
If any of our things in project were in word documents they, had to be
uploaded to Sribd to get evaluate are work. After we had to Infer by making a
comic strip; it made us not just read the book. After we were done with that,
we had to Describe by making pictures we created it helped us by creating
mental picture. Making the pictures helped us make our own pictures.
After we finished doing each step, we would upload them to Google
website. Creating an anticipation guide helped us predict about different
sports in the Olympics. The power word predict means to guess what will
happen next. Compare and contrast is another word that means to tell how
they are the same and how they are different we simply did that by doing a
compare and contrast map. The last thing we had to do was relate to Advise-
Recommend/ elaborate we told the rising 8 th graders to pick their partners
wisely so they will get the grade they want.
