Tobacco Road is located in the south Augusta, Georgia.

A total of 527 students attend

this school. Grade ranges from Pre-k through fifth. The school is identified as a Title I
school with over 90% of the students receiving free lunch. Most grade levels have at
least four classrooms. Faculty is composed of over forty-five certified teachers.

The school is just beginning to receive technology funds through the Splost program.
Every class has a LCD projector. Only four classrooms have a Promethean board
attached to the projector. Each classroom has one teacher dedicated computer and one or
more student computers. Most computers are six or seven years old. The school
purchased two mobile computer carts. One is assigned to a fifth grade classroom and all
other teachers must check out the other available for a three hour period.

The school failed to make AYP. In third grade 123 students were tested.
