FUNCTIONS OF TRADE UNION


Basic functions is to protect and promote the interest of the workers
& conditions of their employment. The other factors are-
 Achieving higher wages, better working & living conditions for the
members
 Acquiring the control of industry by workers.
 Minimising the helplessness of the individual workers
 Providing a worker self-confidence & a feeling that he is not
simply a cog in the machine
 Imbibing sincerity & discipline in workers
 Taking welfare measures for improving the morale of the workers

 Trade union act should be amended in order to avoid dual
membership
 Legal provision for the recognition of the representative union
 Unnecessarily interfere in management decision should be
avoided
