Sketchbook Assignment:

DESIGNING AN ENVIRONMENT
FOR YOUR NON-OBJECTIVE SCULPTURE

it would appear in an environment. This environment can be based on something you
have seen or a place you have been to (New York City, the Grand Canyon, the bottom of

heart, in a dream).

Draw your sculpture realistically and accurately. Use AT LEAST TWO DIFFERENT
ART MATERIALS to complete this assignment.

Think about:

• WHERE would
your sculpture
best be located?
• Consider the
WHOLE
COMPOSITION
and how your
TWO sketchbook
pages will work
together to be
ONE interesting

• Use SIGHTING
to help you get
the angles and
sides right
