Dear Parents
As you should be aware by now the GCSE exams for Year 11 students start in earnest on Monday 16
May. Your child should by now have received an Exam Timetable detailing exams entered and dates of
examinations. Could you confirm with your son/daughter that they have indeed received this
information and if they have not done so to inform Mr Hughes, Examination Officer, who will provide
them with a copy.
At Christ’s we are committed to ensuring that every pupil has every opportunity to achieve his/her
potential. Individual departments are running revision sessions during the Easter Break. With regard to
RE and History, teachers will have contacted you to inform you of the session(s) that they want your
child to attend and it is essential that they do so. Revision sessions are as follows:
There will also be the following sessions running after school during term time:
The Science Department are also holding a revision session on Saturday 14 May.
I am disappointed that there are still some students who continually arrive late to school and
subsequently for lessons. It is especially important that Year 11 students attend all lessons as every
part of learning is vital at this stage. It is also extremely disrespectful to other students who have their
learning disrupted by students coming into classes late. Students should arrive at school in time for
registration which begins at 8.30am. I understand and appreciate that Year 11 students have only a few
more weeks left at school, however, they are still expected to arrive at school wearing the correct
uniform, equipped and ready to learn.
May I take this opportunity to wish you all a restful time over the Easter break and hope that your
son/daughter uses the time wisely to revise as well as relaxing and socialising.
Yours sincerely
Ms K Humberstone
Head of Year 11
