Technical Skills
The RF Optimization Engineer is overall responsible for
• Define new Cellsite specifications for each new project within the existing circles
• Responsible for integrating new WCDMA celRadio lsitessites that conform to minimum SLA’s as determined
by the Central Operations Group. Will set initial parameters for new cell sites Radio sites
• Analysis of GSM network performance, and any change proposed as part of the RF troubleshooting or
traffic balance
• Day to Day WCDMA network problems analysis and troubleshooting of Issues raised by NNOC and co-
ordinating with other functional areas
• Recommend changes to the WCDMA network to improve coverage and/or and performance capacity
(includes parameter optimisation, down tilts and antenna changes, hand off sand updating the neighbour
relation list, call set-up etc.
• Will support the Design Engineer to ensure minimum SLA’s for new cell sites
• Heavy focus of this group will be on “statistics based” optimisation
• Initiate Drive Testing and Drive Test Analysis
• New features support
• Customer complaint support and investigation
• Initial Office Data preparation for new cell sites integrated sites
• RF Design and search ring reports issued
• Support of site acquisition
• Analysis of network statistics and drive test data to optimise network
• Network optimisation of new sites
• RF related SLA management.
