End of Me Series
Lesson 4 James 1:19-20 End of Anger

Introduction:
Anger, hostility, and resentment when not directly dealt
with, can unknowingly get buried inside. Suppressed anger,
in time, will break out of your weak restraints and display
itself in many destructive ways. Here are a few facts about
anger:
• Feeling anger is neither good nor bad, but is rather a
natural reaction that occurs whenever your self-esteem
or your self-respect is hurt or threatened.
• Anger is a sign that you are alive.
• Hate, on the other hand, is a sign that you are sick and
need healing.
• Anger can mask feelings that are at the root of the
problem.
• Anger is also used to avoid dealing with hurtful past
experiences.
• Anger can also be a powerful motivator for change.
Positive anger can cause you to make a dramatic
change in your life.
• Anger left unattended can turn to hate.

3:8? What can we learn about anger from these
passages?

5. What are some practical steps that we can take to

handle our anger? (Discuss the information given in the
message.)

 Selah (Stop and Think about it)

yourself an angry person?
• What happens to us when we try to deny our
anger? What is the healthy way for us to deal with
anger when it comes boiling up inside us?
• What are some of the physical side effects of
anger that is not properly dealt with?

that you can better handle situations where you
find yourself becoming angry?
