Title: To determine pH of coloured fabric.

Tasks

 Determining pH of fabric

Material and equipments

 Swatch of colored fabric.

 Weighing balance.
 Beaker .
 Stirrer.
 pH meter.

Chemical used

 Deionized water

Procedure

1. 100 ml of water was heated to boiling water.

2. 2 gm of fabric in form of pieces were added.
3. Flask was heated for 10 min.
4. Mouth of flask was closed with help of paper and agitate for some time.
5. Flask was then allowed to cool at room temperature.
6. Fabric swatches were removed from flask.
7. pH was noted with help of pH meter.

Results

pH of the fabric was = 9.6

Conclusion

Core pH of the fabric provided was basic (9.6)
