Lab Report (5a)
Title: To find wet and dry crocking fastness of provided fabric

Tasks

 To find dry rubbing fastness.


 To find wet rubbing fastness.

Equipment and material:

 Colored Fabric swatch.


 White fabric swatch.
 Distilled water.
 Crockometer.

Procedure

1. Colored sample was fixed on crockometer along warp direction with help of pins.
2. Dry cotton fabric was clamped on upper part of crockometer.
3. White cotton fabric was rubbed against colored sample.
4. Number of repetitions were 10.
5. Colored transfer to white fabric was rated.
6. Same method was repeated for wet rubbing fastness in which wet cotton fabric was
rubbed against colored sample.

Results

 Dry rubbing fastness = 3 - 4


 Wet rubbing fastness = 2 - 3

Conlusion

 Given sample has good dry rubbing fastness and medium wet rubbing fastness.

Title: To check absorbency of a given sample.

Tasks

 To check absorbency of a fabric.

Equipment and material:

 100% cotton bleached fabric swatch.


 Distilled water.
 Stopwatch.

Procedure

1. Drop of a distilled water was dropped at a distance of 1cm.


2. Time taken by droplet to absorb was noted.
Result

Absorbency time of given sample = 2 sec
