Early Morning, Bird of Night

Early morning, bird of night,

Keep me company, till rays of light,
Dissolve the darkness, place of fright,
To show true courage in all its might!

Early morning, bird of night,

Singing sweetly, songs so bright,
Blinding evil, ugly spite,
Tune to what is good and right!

Early morning, bird of night,

Listen to my heart's delight,
Soar above the limits of height,
Next to me, though not in sight!

Early morning, bird of night,

I am weary, for brief respite,
Before wings open, take to flight,
To my dear friend, I bid goodnight!
