Noise:
Anything that interferes with, slows down, or
reduces the clarity or accuracy of a
communication. Thus, superfluous data or words in
a message are noise because they detract from its
meaning.
Examples of Noise:
 loud, confused, or senseless shouting
 common talk : RUMOR; especially : SLANDER
 something that attracts attention
 something spoken or uttered
 a style of rock music that is loud, often
discordant, and usually uses electronic noise

Types of noise:
 PHYSICAL NOISE
 TECHNICAL NOISE
 SOCIAL NOISE

Physical noise:
“Physical noise  is the kind of noise that is caused
by some physical objects or obstruction caused by
environmental factors”.
Physical noise is any external or
environmental stimulus that distracts us from
receiving the intended message sent by a
communicator.

Examples of Physical Noise:


 Others talking in the background
 background music
 a startling noise and acknowledging someone
outside of the conversation
 Telephone noise
 Traffic noise
 Speaker noise
 Slamming doors
 Blowing air condition
 Clattering typewriter

Technical Noise:
“This noise involves in the failure of the medium of
communication”.

Examples of Technical Noise:


 Crackle on the telephone line
 ILLEGIBLE handwriting
 Computer viruses
 Illegible print
 electrical interference

Social Noise:
“It is the interference caused by differences in
personality and cultures of the member’s
communication”.

Examples of Social Noise:


 Social class difference
 Gender difference
 Student
 Occupation difference
 Age difference
 Religion or cast diffeence
