Placements in the industry and alignment of career with role,

brand and package have come to be regarded as the most

critical goal of professional education. Though learning must
be recognized as an end in itself, yet, it is definitely
important that professional education facilitates the process
of career advancement of students. Moreover, it has been
seen that right placement happens as much because of
individual brilliance and aptitude as it is because of
strategically preparedness. The university visualizes its role
as a facilitator to bring about a radical change in the
employability of its students. Consequently, a
comprehensive placement policy has been framed keeping
in mind the aspirations of the students, their parents and
expectations of the industry.

The Placement Services of the University will now be

available to those students who opt to avail of them
and commit to abide by the requirements thereof.
 The essence of this policy is that the university will
bear the entire cost of Professional Enhancement
Programmes and other interventions without passing
on any cost to the students.
 Since as per current recruitment trends, the
recruitment activity starts early in pre-final semester,
the students are required to gear up for being a part
of placement related activities immediately at this
stage.
 In order to provide effective inputs to the students,
the students likely to pass out in 2012 and opting for
placement assistance will be required to forego
all/part of intervening vacations and will be expected
to attend mandatory sessions in campus during
vacations.
 The attendance in these sessions will be
compulsory and will be mapped. No request for
relaxation/exemption etc whatsoever will be
entertained.
 All such students who are already availing hostel
facility may be provided accommodation at subsidized
hostel fees in different hostel during their period of
mandatory sessions in campus.
 The exact PEP activity schedule for coming summer
vacations will be intimated separately.
 For all purposes, the UMS will be used for
announcements/notifications. Any
announcement/notification made on UMS will be
deemed to have been served on the students. The
University may also use Email/SMS at times to convey
information/interact with students/parents.

to be able to attend PEP sessions and to take further part
in placement process, the student deposits Rs 2000/-. In
case he/she attends mandatory placement sessions in
Cycle II and secures stipulated attendance and furnishes

placement process. It will be presumed that he/she is not
inclined to seek university?s placement assistance.
7) Any student who is on training during any of the
attendance cycles will be required to attend mandatory
sessions immediately after his return or if called by the
university earlier on curtailment of training or after viva etc.
He/she would, however, be required to take part in all such
interventions/tests which are made available to students
online or on UMS.
8) In so far as possible, no PEP session would be organized
during regular exams. However, in case a PEP session and a
backlog/reappear exam date clashes, then exemption from

case session(s) clashes with any recruitment drive facilitated
by the university.
10) In case the total exemptions (S No 8-9 taken
together) in a particular attendance cycle results in
attendance falling below 80%, then the student may be
assigned/asked to attend optional placement activities for
additional inputs for which separate directions would be
issued.
11) The fee of the PEP will be borne by LPU
subject to fulfillment of underlying conditions. The
University is committed to enhance the place ability of all

prescribed norms under this policy. The University will
accordingly bear all expenditure in this connection after the
student has opted for placement policy.
i) The expenditure per student works out to more than Rs
2000/- per attendance cycle. In order to ensure an element
of seriousness amongst students towards the placement, the
students who register for placement process are required to
deposit a refundable sum of Rs 2000/- and furnish receipt to
DSCS. .
ii) This refundable component shall be refunded back after
completion of all cycles to such students who are not
disqualified for any reason and after adjusting for any extra
expenditure incurred for mandatory benchmarking tests etc.
iii) A student can be permanently disqualified on account of
missing sessions during summer vacation in Cycle I.
iv) A student can also be disqualified from placement
process on account of low attendance as explained above or
for not conforming to prescribed norms of behaviour, dress

above as hedge against PEP participation. In case there is
any extra expenditure by the university on mandatory
benchmarking tests over and above Rs 1000/- and the
refundable security of Rs 2000/- has also been forfeited for
whatever reason, then student will be required to pay extra
expenditure.

vii. The University will arrange free coaching for these

tests which will be mandatory for all such students to attend
and will have to secure 80% attendance. The coaching for
the benchmarking tests will be provided free of cost to the
students. However, the coaching will cost Rs 1000/-
