February:
• Media Specialist attended a GPB (Georgia Public Broadcasting) workshop. The
workshop gave an overview of everything available through UnitedStreaming.
Georgia Stories are now free. Next conference: Children’s Literature – Mar 4-5
• Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl occurred January 29th.
Regional was February 5th at Clayton State and West Georgia University
Divisional is February 26th at Thurgood Marshall Elementary.
Finalists will be held at the Children’s Literature Conference in Athens, GA on March
5th.
RMS students did not make it to the Regionals.
• The media center was closed one day this month due to MS absence and one day
due to a County Office meeting.
• State monies had to be spent by February 4th. All monies were spent.

• Still working on Inventory. Biography and Story Collections are completed.

• Few teachers are bringing their classes in to the MC to collaborate for research.
6th Grade teachers use the MC the majority of the time.
Ward and Farooqi make use of the MC the most.
Closer to CRCT teachers will bring their classes in – especially for almanac and
dictionary skill.
• Mobile units and Computer labs have more usage.
• MS and Ms. Ingram have planned to collaborate on presenting Destiny Quest to the
students and staff. Students will be able to write book reviews and suggest books to
friends. Eventually, we would like to create a Reading Community.
