    Andrews Middle School River Day 2011

    River Day is an Andrews Middle School-based event, which offers informal


    learning opportunities along the shores of the Mystic River, behind our school
    for all Andrews students for one school day. We utilize the knowledge and
    talents of community, university, government and public/private volunteers
    as presenters for our students, to learn more about the river in their back
    yard!

    This year’s theme is: THE HISTORY OF THE MYSTIC RIVER

    The 8th Annual River Day school program is scheduled for:


    Friday, May 27th

    The program is developed and run entirely by parent volunteers. We are


    hoping you will consider participating in this wonderful event. Volunteers can
    choose from a variety of tasks that may include: running the “Medford
    Trivia” station, setting up learning stations, helping to set up refreshments
    for volunteers and presenters, providing ice ... the possibilities are varied and
    everyone is welcome.
    Volunteers are needed before, during, as well as after the event.

    Without parent volunteers – RIVER DAY cannot take place!!

    Please tell us if you are able to help by filling out the bottom of this form, and
    returning it to school, with your student in an envelope marked, “River Day”.
    We will contact all parents who have volunteered within the next few weeks!

    Our next scheduled meeting is: MONDAY APRIL 25TH @ 9:00 AM at the
    school.
