We visited the American wire and cable co,. Inc last Friday that was
September 4, 2oo9 for our IOP. Even though the rain is heavy we still get there
very early and we have time to wait our president for the waiver.

When our professor arrived we went to the seminar’s room for the
orientation. Before we get started they gave us pencil and a paper for us to take
down notes. In the orientation the speaker told us that the company is also known
as Duraflex and established in 1955 and also the first wire company in the
Philippines. They showed us the jacketing material and different types of wire,
they use multimedia to show the process on how to make wires and cables. In this
manufacturing process we have seen the wire drawing, extrusion, cabling and
stranding. They told us that the wire they used was the best copper and aluminum
to meet their quality standard and to meet all their client need’s

The second thing we did after the orientation was tour on the working area.
The tour guide tour us first in the laboratory to see how the wire is tested and he
demonstrated how to use the tensile tester and the Nikon profile projector. He also
tour us on the area were manufacturing process is done. The people in this
company were friendly because they entertained us when asking a question. After
the tour they gave us snacks and asked some question before we go home. There
facilities and machines are all in a good condition. I’ve really enjoyed the working
area and learned a lot in the seminar.
