TRIGONOMETR
Y
Trigonometry is a
branch of mathematics that deals with
the relationships between the sides and
angles of triangles and with the
properties and applications of the
trigonometric functions of angles. The
two branches of trigonometry are plane
trigonometry, which deals with figures
lying wholly in a single plane, and
spherical trigonometry, which deals with
triangles that are sections of the surface
of a sphere.

SINE
The sine , usually abbreviated sin, of
one of the acute (less than 90°) angles
of a right triangle is equal to the
length of the side opposite the acute
angle divided by the length of the
longest side, called the hypotenuse.
SINE=OPPOSITE SIDE /
HYPOTENUSE
COSINE
The cosine ,usually abbreviated
cos, of one of the acute (less than
90°) angles of a right triangle is
equal to the length of the side
adjacent to the acute angle divided
by the length of the longest side,
called the hypotenuse.
COSINE = ADJACENT
SIDE/HYPOTENUSE
TANGENT
The tangent, usually abbreviated tan, of
one of the acute (less than 90°) angles of
a right triangle is found by dividing the
length of the side opposite the angle by
the length of the shorter of the two sides
adjacent to the angle. (The other
adjacent side is called the hypotenuse,
and is the triangle’s longest side.
