TEACHING ‘COS LEXIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAT’S WHY COLLOCATIONAL COMPETENCE IS CONSIDERED TO BE CRUCIAL FOR A FOREING LANGUAGE LEARNER. STEPS TO TEACH GRAMMAR
1) Model good grammar in speech and
writing. Encourage students to listen and look for mistakes in speech and writing. This is not meant to make fun of anyone; it’s meant to teach the students to listen and read carefully while looking for mistakes. STEP 2
Teach the basic principles and most common
grammar rules. Choose the grammar rules where students make the most common mistakes. Going over these rules early will provide the students with extra practice and more confidence when faced with these grammar situations. Have students understand the basic principle of each rule and go over examples, but don’t overload them with information. STEP 3
Practice. Students learn best when they have
a chance to do something. Providing hands on experience and practice with each grammar rule is essential to achieving success. Remember, just because it's practice doesn’t mean it has to be homework. STEP 4
Provide different types of grammar work.
Students need to experience all types of work to successfully learn English grammar STEP 5
Focus on one rule at a time. This goes for every aspect
of the classroom, even grading and writing. Tell the students what rule you will be learning and practice. Look for mistakes and also where they used the rule correctly. This allows students to focus on one topic at a time and master it. Then, after a few rules have been covered, review those three or four and practice using those by building on the past few lessons. RECOMANDATIONS

language and grammar is by systematically explaining the rules and getting students to learn them one by one. Applying the rules and frequently reviewing them are the best ways to ensure that your students attain mastery of this subject. HOW TO TEACH GRAMMAR.
