Hughesville Borough

Council Minutes
December 13, 2010 - 7:00, PM
Council members and staff present – Jeffery Berger, Andrew Mook, Curtis Michael, Jillian Perry, James Savage,
Richard Smith, Mayor Walter Reed, Ryan Tira, Dale Cahn, Dolores Moyer and Chief Gill

The regular meeting of the Hughesville Borough Council was called to order by Council President Jeffery Berger
followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Guests and Visitors: Bob Simmons, Savanna Jennings (Sun-Gazette)

Approve Agenda: December 13, 2010 Smith moved, seconded by Michael. Motion passed.

Approve Minutes: November 8 and November 22, 2010 Mook moved. seconded by Savage. Motion passed.

Solicitor’s Report: Ryan Tira said deed was recorded for the Memorial Park on the corner of Water & Main Street.

Police Report: Chief Gill said he would like Council to consider one sided parking on the north side of Cottage Street
during school hours because students are parking there making it difficult for the buses to maneuver.

Mayor’s Report: Walter Reed remind people to move vehicles off the street during a snow storm

Water Report: approve minutes November 4, 2010 Smith moved, seconded by Perry. Motion passed.

Zoning Report: Code Inspections Inc. Nothing to report

East Lycoming Recreation Authority: Request copy of minutes

Hughesville-Wolf Authority: Request copy of minutes

Treasurer’s Report: General Fund - Check# 6893 – 6924 $ 19,299.89


Payroll - Direct Deposit $ 23,590.72
ACH Debits $ 16,435.27
Transfer to Capital $ 1,162.13
Smith moved, seconded by Michael. Motion passed.

Borough Secretary: Dee Moyer asked if Council would like to advertise 2 meetings a month. Mook moved, seconded
by Savage. Motion passed. Meetings will be held the 2nd & 4th Monday of the month at 7:00 PM in Council chambers.

Business:
 Hughesville-Wolf Authority Act 537 Plan
 Gift certificates for the employees in the amount of $25.00; they may chose TJ’s or Ground Chuck.
Smith moved, seconded by Mook. Motion passed.
 Discussion on improving the existing phone system.
 Need to check South Spruce Alley (200 block) for potholes.
 Change defective lock on front door; Perry moved, seconded by Smith. Motion passed.

Adjournment: 9:40 PM Perry moved, Michael seconded. Motion passed.
