    The special meeting of the Hughesville Borough Council was called to order. Council members in attendance included Jeffery Berger, Andrew Mook, Curtis Michael, Richard Smith, Jillian Perry, James Savage and Mayor Walter Reed. The council discussed and voted on several matters, including contributing 50% of the purchase of a tamper primarily used for water projects, a request from Wolf Township for additional representation on the water authority board, discussing mutual expenses between the borough and authority, and suspending additional permits for water hook ups until modifications are made. The council also approved the water authority budget of $520,402 and the 2011 borough budget of $812,000 with no tax increase and curbs and alleys

    =V Contributing 50% of the purchase of a tamper (tabled at November 8, 2010 Meeting) Council previously
    questioned whether a tamper was used by the Borough or just the Water Authority. Primarily it¶s used for
    water projects. Smith moved to take off the table, seconded by Michael. The vote is ³No´
    Roll Call: Michael ± Y; Savage ± Y; Mook ± N; Berger ± Y; Perry ± N; Smith ± N. Tie break went to the
    Mayor, he voted - N

    =V Review letter from Wolf Township; they are requesting additional representation on the board. The
    meetings are open to the public. Council stressed that it is a Borough Authority.
    =V Discussed mutual expenses of the Borough and the Authority and the possibility of a rental charge for
    space used.
    =V The Water Authority will hold all of their meetings in Borough Council Chambers starting January,
    2011. They will take place the first Thursday of the month at 7:00 PM.
    =V ·lm Drive suspension of additional permits for water hook ups until modifications have been made.
    Michael moved, seconded by Smith. Motion passed.
    =V Water Budget approval of $520,402, Smith moved to approve, seconded by Mook. Motion passed.
    =V 2011 Budget approval of $812,000 with a no tax increase. Curbs & alleys tax will be eliminated and
    added to the real estate tax. Taxes will remain at 5 mills. Smith moved seconded by Savage. Motion passed.
    Budgets will be available to the public until December 20, 2010 when final adoption will takes place.
