Networkconnection for Fanuc xxiTB and xxiMB–Controls

Necessary:

Computer with Ethernet–Card and TCP/IP Protocoll, FTP Server Software (e.g. Freeware Personal
FTP Server 4.46 for Windows 9x)

Configuration of the control

FTP–Parameter setting at control:

• Go to „System“.
• Extend Softkey bar five times. (ETHPRM appears)
• Press Softkeys ETHPRMðOPRTðEMBEDD.
• On page 1 die configure IP Adress and Subnet of the control.
• on page 3 configure port number, IP Adress of the external PC, User Name and Passwort for FTP–
Servers.
IP–Adress has to be compatible.
(e.g. IP 192.100.100.1, IP 192.100.100.2 and Subnet Mask 255.255.255.0)

Networkconfiguration of Server PC
Configure TCP/IP after the following example.
 Networkconnection for Fanuc xxiTB and xxiMB

Installation of FTP Server

• Start Setup–Programm
• Add user „anonymous“ and shared directory.

Short instruction for Data transfer

Set transfer channel:

• Change to „Offset/Setting“
• Press Softkey SETING and set I/O channel „9“ for Ethernet.

Test conncetion:

e.g: IP Adress of Computer 192.100.100.2, Adress of control 192.100.100.1

• Connect computer and control with RJ45 Ethernet cable.

• Start Computer and control.
• Edit PING [IP–Adress] (e.g. PING 192.100.100.1) in DOS Mode. In case of proper configuration,
you get „Reply“.
• Go to „System“ ETHMNTðOPRTðEMBEDD at the control.
• Edit IP Adress 192.100.100.2 and press PING.
In case of proper connection you get „Reply“, too.

Data Input:

• Go to Edit–Mode.
• Extend softkey bar in Menu „Programm“.
• Press Softkeys HOSTðOPRT and extend softkey bar once more.
• Press Softkey INP, edit program name or number and press Softkey EXEC.

Data output:

• Go to Edit–Mode.
• In Menu „Programm“ press Softkeys PRGRMðOPRT and extend softkey bar.
• Press Softkey OUTP, edit programm name and press Softkey EXEC.

Delete Data:

• Go to Edit–Mode.
• Extend softkey bar in Menu „Programm“.
• Press Softkeys HOSTðOPRTðEMBEDD.
• Press Softkey DEL, edit program name or number and press Softkey EXEC.
