CHAPTER - 3

FEASIBILITY STUDY

3.1 Introduction :

Generally the feasibility study is used for determining the

resource requirement cost, benefits and whether the proposed system is

feasible with respect to the organization. The proposed “Online

Information System in Srikalahasti Temple” system feasibility can be

evaluated as follows. There are three types of feasibilities, which are equally

important they are:

 Operational Feasibility

 Technical Feasibility

 Economical Feasibility

3.2 Operational Feasibility:

Operational feasibility is the willingness and ability of the

maintains and others to use and support proposed “Online Information

System”.

Proposed system is operationally feasible. Because the proposed

system provides various facilities to the users for operating and become

familiar with system. So, the proposed portal is operationally feasible.

3.3 Technical Feasibility:

Technical feasibility deals with the existing technology and

software and hardware requirements of proposed system. The proposed

“Online Information System” system needs the following:

1. Internet for Online Process

2. Personal computer with Pentium processor, 32 MB RAM.

3. Windows XP, Windows NT, Windows Server

4. Network between Site and Customers

5. MYSQL database package

6. PHP web based application software

As in this project we are using the above mentioned needs and

these are already in use in the Organization. So, it doesn’t to purchase the

software. Hence we conclude that this package is technically feasible.

3.4 Economical Feasibility:

The system is said to be economically feasible if the financial

benefits equal or exceed the costs.

• The cost of hardware and software is nil as they are already

available.

• The proposed system is very user friendly and is accepted to

be cost effective
• Training is not necessary because they all are well known
about online processing in existing system
