1) Cortisol is a primary stress hormone secreted by the adrenal glands, the
hormone that is responsible for increased blood pressure, blood sugar &
suppressing the immune system. High levels of cortisol decreases metabolism
of glucose & increases mobilization & metabolism of fats. Decreased
metabolism of glucose contributes to increased blood glucose levels &
increased blood fat levels contributes to insulin resistance. Increased levels of
blood glucose & blood fats are classic symptoms of diabetes. When blood
cortisol levels are too high, insulin will not lower blood sugar.

When this hormone is released frequently or for long periods of time, its
effects can be dangerous. High blood pressure & diabetes are common health
problems that can occur.

2) Norepinephrine is the hormone that causes the heart rate to increase,

stored glucose (simple sugar) to be released & increased blood flow to the
muscles. The increased heart rate can cause high blood pressure & the stored
glucose (simple sugar) that's released can also cause diabetes. Back & body
muscle pain can occur due to the tension in the muscles caused by this
hormone.
