LIBERAL CANDIDATE CONVENES HEALTHCARE FORUM

In the spirit of public consultation, Kelowna–Lake Country Liberal candidate Kris Stewart
will host an open forum on healthcare this Saturday at the Rotary Centre for the Arts,
commencing at 11:00 am.

The forum is a free, non-partisan event featuring a panel of local doctors and public policy
experts discussing healthcare in Canada and responding to questions from participants.
“The intent of this forum is to begin a local dialogue about renewing our public healthcare
system,” says Stewart.

Stewart notes that feedback she has received from local residents echoes the national polls.
“We’ve made thousands of calls to constituents, and we’re hearing that the top concern is
healthcare.”

Stewart says, “I insisted to my organizers that this event is not about the Liberals or about
me, it’s about giving the public a venue where we can talk about tough issues and successes
in healthcare.” The panelists have been encouraged to speak freely. The Mary Irwin
Theatre will be free of any political branding. Campaign volunteers will be available
outside the theatre with promotional materials for interested participants.

Stewart holds a nursing degree and an MBA, has worked in the private and public sectors,
and practiced in the US, Canadian arctic, and remote BC communities. This background of
diverse practice settings and patient populations gives her a unique perspective on
healthcare.
