 Economic Impact Analysis Background

• The Economic Impact Analysis is an estimateof the

financial impact an installation has on its surrounding
area.
• It is used as an asset for commanders to help show
community leaders the economic effect a base has in
the community.
• There are four different sections to the analysis.
 - Payroll (Military and Civilian)
 - Expenditures (Construction, Services, Materials)
 - Indirect Jobs (Downtown Jobs)
 - Personnel Figures
• OSD developed the EIA model in order to provide a
reasonable, fair and consistent tool to compare the
potential economic impacts of alternative 1995 BRAC
commission recommendations

 Methodology

• The EIA is regulated by AFMAN 65-506, Chapter 4

• Information was gathered as specified by AFMAN 65-506.
Figures were then broken down into one of the three
sections, and listed as specifically as possible
• Only money that was spent or affects the local area is
included
• Information was collected through different departments
on and off base along with descriptions to identify the
numbers
