Marketing your business on FB without getting de-friended

STEP ONE: Create Friends Lists

One of the most powerful marketing strategies when you use Facebook is using friends lists. It’s kind of like a
newsletter. You can categorize your friends according to their interests. When you have, you can send each
group of friends messages related to what you think they’ll enjoy.
Let me give you an example, and then explain how you can create friends lists on Facebook.
By now most of us have at least 300 friends, if you don’t, that’s ok too, and for those of you that are way
above that, you really need to gain some control through lists. Try to think about what you’ll want to communicate, do you
have several interests? One interest could be sports, another interest could be marketing, a third interest could be friends
from high school, a fourth interest could be food, a fifth interest could be party, a sixth interest could be money. The list
goes on and on, but you get the picture.
Every time you want to send an email related to sports, you send it only to the people in your sports group, every time you
want to tell someone about a very interesting technique about earning money, you send the email only to the people on
your money list. When you are ready to party, you send an email to your party list. This way, you will only reach people
that are interested in your topic, and most likely, you’ll not be accused of spamming.
This is a very powerful way of using Facebook to share your interests and promote yourself, as opposed to promoting your
business. Facebook is social and most people are more interested in what is going on with you than with your business.
Make sure you send out interesting and fun updates and season them lightly with your business promotions. You are
much less likely to get “defriended” or “ignored” that way.
It’s fairly easy to organize your friends into lists. I have even added some images for you.
