The Tiger
Is an animal that usually can be seen alone and is very territorial, is usually found in dense
forests, but also in open areas. Normally, the tiger hunting animals of medium size or large,
usually ungulates. The size of the existing six different subspecies of the tiger is very
variable. Male tigers are much larger than females, as in their territories, covering an area
larger in males. 

The tiger is the largest cat in the universe. The greater weight in the wild, an adult male is
more than 300 kg The size of tigers and other characteristics vary from one subspecies to
another. In the wild, male tigers have a weight between 100 and 306 kg, and a length,
including tail, measuring between 60 and 100 cm. larger in males, between 2.13 and 3.35
m. While females, much smaller, their weight is 85 - 167 kg.All this from the tigers of
Sumatra (the smaller subspecies) to Amur tigers (subspecies of larger size.) 
Its fur is orange or fawn, an intermediate area and ventral white spots vary from dark brown
to black. The shape and number of stripes depends on the different subspecies, but most
tigers tend to have less than 100 spots. The staining pattern is unique to each copy it makes
possible to distinguish although not the best. 
Another special feature looks and cats is believed to have some color vision, and like all of
their gender has the ability to roar. 
Habitat: 
Unlike the king of the jungle, the tiger prefers more dense vegetation, such as rain forests or
taiga, and the camouflage helps hide from their prey in those places. The tiger and jaguar
are strong swimmers, unlike other cats. It is common to see the tiger swimming in ponds,
rivers or lakes, and even kill other animals within it 
Diet: 
Out of captivity, tigers feed on large ungulates, although like many other predators, tigers
are to seize opportunities, and not despise small dams, whether monkeys, peacocks, rabbits
and even fish. In Siberia, the main prey of the tiger are the elk, boar, shika deer, roe deer
and musk deer, while on the island of Sumatra, Timor deer, wild boar and the Malayan
tapir is hunted prey more often by the Sumatran tiger. They are also able to hunt large
herbivores such as gaur, water buffalo and elk.
