Ford played in three games with the Giants last week. On April 19,
he scored his first run of the season, crosssing the plate on a 2-run
home run by Aubrey Huff in a 6-3 win over Colorado. Ford got on base
with a walk, then stole second before scoring. Ford’s other action was
as a defensive replacement.

Regular season stats:

Trout played a pivotal role in the Travelers’ 4-3, 15-inning victory over
Frisco on April 18. In the bottom of the 13th frame, he hit a solo home
run, his fourth of the season, to tie the game at 3-3. Then in the 15th,
he sacrificed Adam Younger to third. From there, Younger came in to
score the game-winning run. He finished the game 3-for-6 with two
runs scored and a double as well. Trout only had one other hit in nine
other at-bats last week.

Chris McConnell
Syracuse Chiefs
Triple-A
Shortstop
Delsea Regional H.S.’04

Regular season stats:

G Avg. AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SB OPS

McConnell cracked his first home run of the season, a 2-run shot, to
give the Chiefs some insurance in a 6-3 victory over Pawtucket on April
20. Those were also McConnell’s first two RBIs of the season.
McConnell struggled at the plate otherwise, however, as he had just
two hits in 18 other at-bats, and is hitless in his last 10.
