Kyiv Economics Institute (KEI) is a research institution established in 2005 by Stockholm Institute of Transition
Economics. Being a partner of the leading foreign research centers, KEI performs analyses of the high level of
complexity in the domain of economic policy, collaborating with Kyiv School of Economics (KSE), Stockholm
Institute of Transition Economics (SITE) and Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA).

KEI researchers are qualified economists with leading western universities academic degree, who continue their
researches focused on assessment of economic sectors efficiency and capacity as well as on economic
modernization, labor economics and demography economics restructuring and others.

KEI goal is to fulfill the following mission:


• To perform top-grade economic researches and provide consultations with regard to Ukrainian and world
quality standards;
• To enhance economic awareness of political elite, business experts and society through promotion of the
research results among all parties concerned.

KEI has an experience in implementing projects at the request of state authorities, private entities, international
funds and companies.

Examples of the projects implemented:

• Evaluaton of “Improvement of the social care system” Project results and effects (2007-2009, World Bank
and Ministry of labor and social policy of Ukraine);
• Evaluation of the “Mother and a child health” Project results in Ukraine (2007-2008, Global Development
network (GDN));
• “Influence of the rich countries’ policy on the poverty in developing countries and countries with transition
economy” (2005-2007, Global Development Network (GDN));
• “Multifield protocol on evaluation of the climate effects, vulnerability and adaptation” (2006-2007, The
USA National scientific fund);
● “Cities in conditions of transition economy: cross-disciplinary research on urban development” (2009-
2010, Global Development network (GDN))/
