THE AL BAKER METHOD. New Improved Model.

The following instructions outline the method of

operating the Baker style Diminishing Card unit along
with VIKING-HAENCHEN'S handlíng/routine. ¡nstructions

1. Assuming you have just completed a variety
of card flourishes, or card routine. Simply lay your cards on the Baker Diminishing unit (which shouid be
laying face down) and pick up the whole stack with your right hand. Place the combined unit in your left hand
(as per fig.1). Baker unit shouid be to the back of the síack, against your palm. All cards facing toward
audience. Now proceed with a couple of Color Changes changing the visible card at the face of the deck.
Begin by removing half the regular cards from the face of the pack, fanning them with the right hand. Wipe
these cards across the face of the remaining cards held in the left hand. As you do, extend the middle and
third fingers of the right hand so as to clip a portion of the cards (from below), removing them from the face
of the deck held in your left hand. This will look as if you are 'painting' a new face on the visible card(s) in the
left hand. Repeat once more removing all but one card from in front of the Baker set.
2. Now with the fan still in your right hand, brush the faces of the fan against the Baker set (side-
ways), at the same time removing the cover card and folding over the two-piece face card. Hold the
fan in front of the diminished card for just a beat, before revealing the 'diminished1 cards in your left
hand (now held ¡n the palm. ~. ^ , .,
3. The cards in the right hand are now tabled and the Baker pack is adjusted with both hands into a ^
fanning position in the left hand. The right hand thumb & first finger pulí the fan open. (fig.3& 4). It ¡s ^^ imporíaní
that you drag your middle finger along í!¡8 backs of the cards as íhey are fanned. This will I insure that the fan
opens correctly without showing any 'Windows' or cutouts.

b 4 . Reach with the right hand for one of the 'normal' size cards on the table and bring it up next to the fan for
comparison. Replace this card and cióse fan with right hand. " " I
i 5. Once the fan is closed, the thumb of the left hand pulís down the next inner packet-set from the I
back, as the right hand pretends to squeeze the cards. While these actions are taking place the right f hand
pushes the front packet over (forward) and finger-palms it, at the same time pulling open the next fan with the
thumb and first finger (flg. 7 & 4).
¡ 6. The right hand goes to the table to secure a 'normal' size card again, at the same time dumping
\ the first packet (in a well, servant, hat or even in a profund pocket). The normal card is compared to
I the new diminished size and returned to the table.
7. The right hand closes the fan and again makes a squeezing motion (removing the exposed set in
a finger-palm, as before) and pulling open the next set of cards into a fan. fe • 8. The right hand
remains at your side for a moment so that the shrinking effect can register on your
audience. It goes to the table for the 'normal' card, again, dumping its load as it picks up the tabled card,
which is again held next to the diminished fan for comparison. Table this card.
9. Cióse the fan, squeeze, and again diminish (as before). This time you display a micro-mini fan, which is
opened with the aid of the right hand fingers, This fan is shown both front and back at the fingertips of the
left hand.
10. The fan is now closed and held in the right hand fingertips. Execute a French Drop, allowing the cards
to drop into the right hand palm.
11. The left hand is held at shoulder level as the right hand goes for a 'normal' card. It dumps the micro-set
and brings the larger card up to form a eradle (card held horizontal, between thumb and first

de la cara de las tarjetas restantes sostenidas en la mano izquierda. Como usted lo hace, ampliar los dedos medios y
terceros del derecho para acortar una porción de las tarjetas (de debajo), quitándolas de la cara de la cubierta sostenida
en su mano izquierda. Esto mirará como si usted sea ' painting' una nueva cara en las tarjetas visibles en la mano
izquierda. Repetición una vez más que quita todos sino una tarjeta delante del sistema del panadero.

2. Ahora con todavía el ventilador en su mano derecha, cepille las caras del ventilador contra el panadero fijan (side-
maneras), al mismo tiempo quitando la tarjeta de la cubierta y plegando la tarjeta de cara de dos piezas. Sosténgase
aviente delante de la tarjeta disminuida para apenas un golpe, antes de revelar el ' tarjetas diminished1 en su izquierda
mano (¡ahora llevado a cabo n la palma. ~. ^. ,

3. Las tarjetas en la mano derecha ahora se tabulan y el paquete del panadero se ajusta con ambas manos en un ^ que
avienta la posición en la mano izquierda. El & derecho del pulgar; pulí del primer dedo el ventilador abierto. (fig.3& 4). ¡Él

4. Alcance con la mano derecha para una del ' normal' las tarjetas de tamaño en la tabla y la traen para arriba al lado del
ventilador para la comparación. Substituya este ventilador de la tarjeta y del cióse por la mano derecha. " " I i

5. Una vez que el ventilador es cerrado, el pulgar de los pulís de la mano izquierda abajo del interno siguiente paquete-
fijó del I mueva hacia atrás, como la mano derecha finge exprimir las tarjetas. Mientras que están ocurriendo estas
acciones la f correcta empuja el paquete delantero encima (delantero) y las dedo-palmas manualmente él, al mismo
tiempo tirando abra el ventilador siguiente con el pulgar y el primer dedo (flg. & 7; 4). ¡

6. La mano derecha va a la tabla a asegurar un ' normal' tarjeta de tamaño otra vez, al mismo tiempo descargando \ el
primer paquete (en bien, el criado, sombrero o aún en un bolsillo del profund). La tarjeta normal se compara a I el nuevo
tamaño disminuido y vuelto a la tabla.

7. La mano derecha cierra el ventilador y hace otra vez un movimiento que exprime (que quita el sistema expuesto
adentro una dedo-palma, como antes) y tirando abre el sistema siguiente de tarjetas en un ventilador. FE •

8. La mano derecha permanece en su lado por un momento de modo que el efecto que encoge pueda colocarse en su
audiencia. Va a la tabla para el ' normal' tarjeta, descargando otra vez su carga pues coge la tarjeta tabulada, que se
sostiene otra vez al lado del ventilador disminuido para la comparación. Tabule esta tarjeta.

9. Cióse el ventilador, apretón, y disminuye otra vez (como antes). Esta vez usted exhibe un micro-mini ventilador, que se
abre con la ayuda de los dedos derechos, que este ventilador se demuestra delantero y trasero en las yemas del dedo de
la mano izquierda.

10. El ventilador ahora se cierra y se sostiene en las yemas del dedo derechas. Ejecute una gota francesa, permitiendo
que las tarjetas caigan en la palma derecha.

11. La mano izquierda se sostiene en el nivel del hombro mientras que la mano derecha va para un ' normal' tarjeta.
