2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur

Plot

The plot of this story is based off how mankind
rose to what its current status is from the
beginning as early hominids to later space
explorers.

The author uses a monolith, an alien
spacecraft to be the main catalyst for
mankind's success and in the end of the book,
he shows the rebirth of mankind in the form of
the starchild.
Success

This book's success was greatly due to an
upcoming generation of space geeks and
nerds during the 1970's who took whatever
opportunity they had to find a good space
novel.

This book attained great success because it
was a large peace effort by the author who
proposed the idea of peaceful coexistince.
About the author
 Mr. Clarke is a world renowned author of
space novels and has written sequels to this
book such as: 2010 and 3000.
 His awards include: Stuart Ballantine Medal in
1963, Nobel Peace Prize by law professor
Glenn Reynolds in 1994, and Distinguished
Supporter of the British Humanist Association
