Telecom Services- when the telecom services were under total government regulation the price for each

call was charged exorbitantly. With the

introduction of private players we can see that the call rates have gone so far down to a paisa a second. India is the place where the telecom
companies earn the least amount of profit per connection. Give examples of BSNL and MTNL and also the private players such as AIRTEL,
VODAFONE, etc.

Blackberry services- the blackberry services are charged at a cost of RS400 in India and the reason behind it is its monopoly over the services. In
case a different player emerges like nokia with a similar messenger service then definitely the prices are likely to go down. But being a
monopoly it is in a condition to charge such prices across the globe.

Maruti Suzuki had a monopoly till almost 1991 and the reason behind this is the lack of competitor. That is the reason why maruti could charge
Rs 47,500 for the first car that it sold. Which if considered at present scenario is a very huge amount because it was almost 3o years from now.

Indian airlines was earlier the only airline and it was owned by the government. So earlier the prices were very high for the air travel. But with
new competitors coming in the fare went on going down.
