COOL FILTRATE AT ROOM TEMP.
NOW TAKE 100ML OF ABOVE FILTRATE IN A CON.
FLASK-250ML, ADD 1GM LEAD ACETATE – PPT FORMED IN FORM OF TANNIN, KEEP IT
FOR SETTELING FOR 10MTS, NOW FILTER THIS IN A BEAKER USING 40/41 FP (1PC) SAME
TIME GIVE 2-5ML WASHING TO BEAKER INNER SURFACE. NOW ADD CONC H2SO4 1ML
(5-10 DROPS) IN FILTRATE. NOW USING 40/41FP (3PC) FILTER IT IN A CON FLASK. NOW

2) WITH CHEMICALS: SAME ABOVE, ONLY IN 90-100 ML WATER ADD 0.8 GM OF ALUM
OR ADD 50 ML OF ALUM FROM PREP TANK.
SOLUTION PREPARATION
2) SODIUM THIO SULPHATE: TAKE 2.48 GM SOD THIO SUL. ADD 20 – 25 ML D.WATER,
DISSOLVE IT & MAKE UP TO 1000 ML.
STANDERDIZATION OF SOLUTIONS
CALCULATION: 25ML IODINE = 25ML SOD THIO SUL, THAN INVERT SUGAR IS = 0.3
IF 25ML IODINE = 24ML SOD THIO SUL
THAN INVERT SUGAR = ( 0.3 *24) / 25 = 0.288
ONLY 24.5 IS ACCEPTABLE OR MAKE NEW SOLUTION.
RAW TESTING
1. SODIUM SILICATE (Na2SiO3)
A) SiO2 TEST: TAKE 1 gm SAMPLE ADD SOME BOIL WATER, ADD 10 ml 1 : 1 HCL
THAN BAKE IT ON HOT PLATE AT100 c – GIVE SOME PAD TO AVOID BUMPING.
