Methodology

Our Project is about In School Recycling, we want to encourage the students to

recycle plastic bottles. Our main goal is to promote awareness on the conservation of the

environment.

The simple step of recycling can greatly impact the reduction of deforestation and

conserve the world’s natural resources. We believe that if the students in our school start

recycling, we can recycle large amounts of plastic bottles because they are largely used

the most.

The steps we have taken are that we have bought four bins at Wal-Mart. We

bought two bins for plastic bottles and the other two bins for paper. We bought the

recycling bins at Wal-Mart because the actual recycling bins are expensive. We then

came up with the idea of spray painting the recycling logo on the bins. We bought the

spray paint and printed out the recycling logo. The spray painting idea was not very

successful because we did not have that much experience, so the end product was kind of

messy looking.

We then placed the recycling bins in the class rooms. By the end of the fourth

week we noticed that the paper bins were not very productive, many people did not

recycle paper. Noticing that, we decided to make the paper bins into plastic bottle bins.

We have made posters that say “Recycle” and “Plastic Bottles”, and we have

posted them around the school to raise awareness.

Now we have a new plan with Mr. Lee’s club, “Eagle Service” they want to help

us by recycling more materials, like cans and trash. We have talked to Mr. Lee and we

have discussed ideas. So far we have come up with the plan to buy more bins and place

them in more classes.
