Have you been wondering how you could learn Coptic?

And really learn it? Are you interested in early
Christianity? The history and language of Egypt?
Gnostic texts? Monks, nuns, and other desert ascetics?

Come join us at Fordham for one, two, or three

semesters of instruction in the language of early
Christian Egypt. Our program of instruction begins in Fall 2011 with:

Elementary Coptic I

Dr. Kevin Wilkinson (Ph.D., Yale) has taught Coptic at Yale multiple times and will

Dr. Wilkinson studied Coptic under Bentley Layton (Yale), the preeminent
grammarian of the Coptic language, and did additional study in Coptic papyrology at
the Papyrussammlung of the Austrian National Library (Vienna). He has broad
research interests in early Christianity and late antiquity.
