GRADUATE INTERNSHIP/FIELDWORK

2011-2012 Academic Year


Pomona College Career Development Office
Meet individually and in groups with liberal arts undergraduates and advise on all aspects of
career exploration, job search strategy, perform mock interviews, review cover letters and
resumes, and help students assess interests, work values, and goals. Prepare and present career
and graduate school related workshops. Assist with career-related programming and events.
Research career and graduate school options through use of the office’s extensive career
resource library and website.

The successful candidate will have strong listening, organizational, and research skills. The
incumbent must also have initiative, motivation and a strong desire to help talented
undergraduates explore and discover options and attain those options through strong resumes,
cover letters, and interviews. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions in a fast-paced,
high-volume office. Must have a strong interest in learning about a wide range of career and
graduate school options and how to research a range of fields.

This position should be sought after in conjunction with fulfilling internship or


fieldwork requirements for a graduate program. The first 10 weeks will be unpaid
training. After successful completion of training, a stipend of up to $3600 over the
remainder of the academic year will be paid for time worked.

1 position is available.

12 to 20 hours per week with days and times to be arranged.
