Translation Method :::::

Translate several short sentences in their notebooks about the gramatical point
taught.
Put the meaning of a list of words in their notebooks.

Series Method
1 Teacher presents series to the class orally, accompanying words with pantomime,
props.
2. Teacher repeats series orally and class joins in with pantomime, not with words.
3. Class pantomimes series as teacher repeats orally but does not model actions.
4. Individuals pantomime the series as teacher repeats orally.
5. Class imitates series orally as well as physically, first together and then as individual
volunteers.

the Doctor
I pick up the phone. I take the fondue pot. I feel sick.
I dial six, two, six, I plug it in. I go to the
doctor.
seven, four, three. I pour the chocolate. I sit on the
table.
I say “hello”. I put in some cream. I open my
mouth.
I talk to my friend. I stir it. I stick out
my tongue.
I say “Ciao”. I smell it. I breathe
deeply.
I hang up the phone. I taste it. I take
aspirin.
I say: “Yum, yum it’s good!”
