OPERATIVE DIAGNOSIS: Ectopic Pregnancy, 12 weeks AOG, probably ruptured G6P4 (4014)

TYPE OF OPERATION PERFORMED: Right Salpingectomy
Description of Procedure:
- Induction of spinal anesthesia
- Indwelling foley catheter inserted aseptically
- Abdominal asepsis, antisepsis and draping done
- Midline suprapubic incision done on the skin and carried down to the peritoneum suctioned
- Hemoperitoneum suctioned
- Pelvic organs inspected. right fallopian tube is grasped with a Bobcock clamp and elevated
- Series of clamps applied from the fimbrial end up to the proximal end of the right fallopian tube
- The tube is excised and suture ligated using chromic 2-0
- Bleeders checked and ligated.
- Thorough peritoneal washing done
- Instruments and lap packs counted complete and removed
- Closure of abdomen in layers:

Peritoneum – simple continuous suturing using chromic 2-0


Fascia – figure of 8 using Vicryl 1-0
Subcutaneous – simple interrupted using chromic 2-0
Skin – subcuticular suturing using Vicryl 4-0
- Application of sterile dressing

Operative Findings
- Hemoperitoneum suctioned approximately 200 cc
- Uterus not enlarged
- Ampullary segment of the right fallopian tube is bulbously dilated to 6x4 cm with 1 cm point of
rupture
- Left fallopian tube and bilateral ovaries are grossly normal
- EBL = 300 CC
