PERFORMANCE ART AND

PSEUDO GLITCH
GLITCHERTRONICS
EARLY IDEAS
 Wii instrument for
performance.
 Tokoloten (self
described wacky,
erratic musician)
 Very entertaining to
watch
 Wii connectivity too
erratic
FRIPPERTRONICS
 Robert Fripp (King Crimson) and Brian Eno
(Roxy music) collaborate
 Tape loop signal delay system
SIMPLE DELAY PATCH
 This was the first very
simple patch I used to
create a signal delay.
 Audio input
 Record
 Play
 play recording and
audio input
 record etc
USING A GAME CONTROLLER
 Prototype - first patch
to use ‘hi’ instead of
aka.wiiremote
 Grabs data from
Playstation game
controller
 Note the sends, these
were added for more
control over sound -
 s joystick
 s recording
RECEIVING PATCH
glitch manufacture
EXAMPLE OF RECORDINGS
 This is one of the
recordings I made at
the this stage of the
project.
 The looper is used first
 Then manufactured
glitch is added
 This glitch is actually
sliced up sound from
the input signal
MULTIPLE PATCHES INTO ONE

 For the final project I have put both

the waveform glitch patch and the
audio recorder/looper patch together
 Just makes it easier to use
AIMS OF THIS PATCH
 The central aim I wanted to achieve with
this patch was to be able to slice up an
incoming audio signal.
 When sliced the audio should resemble
glitch.
 These slices should then be placed into a
predefined rhythmic loop.
 The main looper is kept to keep ‘real’
sounds.
