 Desirability of the consequences.

 Honoring legal and moral rights of those effected.

 Fulfilling of duties.

Fairness of the distribution.
SCIENTIFIC MANAGEMENT, THE
GATHERING AND USE OF INFORMATION.

 Fredrick Taylor (father of scientific management).

 Focus on the rule of knowledge to improve and

modify their activities and to improve the efficiency of
the worker.
QUALITY MANAGEMENT , THE GATHERING
AND USE OF INFORMATION.

 W. Edward Deming

 A major figure in developing the quality management

(TQM) to correct for the efficiency obsession of
scientific management.
 When quality management is put into practice, an
organization’s management can pick up information from the
workers about their jobs.

 In case of scientific management, a team of efficiency expert

examine a work process and determines that certain tasks
require fewer steps, and removal of these steps cause jobs to
be eliminated.
OPEN BOOK MANAGEMENT

 Open Book Management developed by Jack stack is easier to

manage ethically.

 It starts with the first principle that employees “must receive

information.
THE MISUSE AND ABUSE OF INFORMATION
BY MANAGEMENT.
 Open Book has helped companies to avoid layoff.

 Taylor and Deming introduced superior techniques of

management but each system however has suffered from
misuse that impact the workers disproportionately.
 It is recommended here that open Book Management can
address these issues by placing the decision making process in
the light of the day. Trust is essential for the good
employer/employee bonding high moral and successful quality
management layoff while still possible, would at least be
minimized and clearly understood by the victim and survivors.
