Suggestions for M.Tech. (CSE) Syllabus

After making discussions with faculty members those teaching M.Tech.

(CSE) following points have been observed as suggestions.
1. Syllabus of I semester is somehow did not appeal neither to faculties nor to
students as it is simply revision of graduate course.
2. Syllabus of CS 11 (Foundation of Computer Science) not seems to achieve its
goal because of being a blend of full three subjects. Neither justified with its
contents nor with time allotted to cover.
3. One common observation is that if syllabus of subject like Database
Management Systems can be modified i.e. First unit may comprise of basic of
subject rest of four units should be advanced than any graduate syllabus.
Subject may be renamed as Advanced Database Management Systems and we
suggest same for other subjects too.
4. Some important subjects like Soft & Evolutionary computing, Computational
Mathematics for Research (Comprising Probability Modeling Theory, Number
theory, Queuing Theory) must include.
5. Practical aspects of subjects are missing. There should be mandatory
laboratories in appropriate subjects.
