They went to Ogden and lived on 28th street on Watson’s Farm, James worked in Taylors mill. Then they moved to Newey’s Farm, and stayed until 1868, when they moved to Riverdale. In 1871 they moved to Hooper to homestead land and- ‘make their home. About this time, Alice’s second son came from England, On 11 Feb 1876. James Moore died and buried in the Hooper cemetery. In 1877 Alice and Mathew Young and his three daughters came from England. Alice ‘was of a charitable disposition and liked her friends to stay totea, She went to Slaterville to live with her youngest daugh- ter Sarah Moore Smout, where she died 9 May 1884 and ‘was buried in the Hooper cemetery. Her parents ‘moved to Indiana when she was three. ‘They were baptized into the LDS church 8 Jul 1831, In the fall of 1833, they moved to Missouri. They camped at Lafayette that winter ‘on a farm her father bought. They then moved out on the ‘Tabor Prairie. In June following, they moved to Clay County. Her father went to enter a piece of government Jand where he was taken sick and suffered until 16 Aug 1834 when he died, teaving her mother and his mother and six children, all sick. In Feb 1838, they moved to Caldwell County. Clarissa was in Far West atthe time Joseph Smith ‘was delivered up to the mob. ‘They left 28 Feb 1839 and moved to Quincy, Illinois. ‘She had to walk every step of the way through mud, rain and snow. At age 17, Clarissa married John Harvey Moore at Nauvoo, She became a member of the Relief Socityy 1 ‘Aug 1842. Her first child was bom 6 Aug 1842, Her sec~ ‘ond child was born 13 Nov 1844, ten miles south of Nauvoo. In 1846 they left Illinois with the rest ofthe saints because of the mob. They stopped in Lee County, lowe where their third child was bom. In the spring of 1848 they moved to the Big Pidgeon, where John left her and the chil- dren in a tent and was gone four months in the Government Service. Their fourth child was born there in 1849. They left their home the first of Jun 1852, Clarissa drove a three horse team across the plains and arrived in Salt Lake City 27 Sep 1852. They went on to Payson, Utah County, where they permanently settled and had six more children. In May 1856 John took a second wife. In Feb 1858, he took a third, John and Clarissa had their sealings and annointings at the Endowment House. Clarissa labored faithfully in the Relief Society for many years In 1873, she went to Salt Lake City and studied midwifery and was 2 practicing midwife afterward. In 1878, she was set apzst under the hands of Joseph S. Tanner to the office of secon! Counselor to the President of Third District Relief Society Payson Second Ward. John passed away 15 Nov 1899, Teaving Clarrissa a widow for five years. She passed away at age eighty, 10 Jan 1905. They are buried in the Payson Cemetery. She was the st of ten children. Her family were early members Sf the LDS church. Her fasnily settled Ogden, Utah, Her mother had died 17 Nov 41 ja Nauvoo and her father died 1 Sep 1861 in Ogden, ‘At age eighteen, Dianna married Isaac Clark in His other wife was Mary Lemmons. They made home in Ogden, where they became parents of one son 853, Their happiness was short lived, as Isaac passed say 24 Jan 1854, leaving Dianna a widow at age twenty- two. She worked to support their young son and on 7 Apr 1854, she married David Moore in Salt Lake City. They made their home in Ogden, where they became parents of David Moore was also married to Susan Maria Vorce oa Sarah Barker. Dianna helped to construct dwelling places for her fam- ity both in Ogden and a three-year period in Ogden Valley. Site also helped put in crops of wheat and com. She helped put in a willow fence and helped construct adobe bricks by mixing mud with her feet, She was a very devoted mother, Diana was a very diligent worker in the LDS church. At the lime of her death, she was President of the Relief Society of the Mound Fort Ward. David passed away 26 Jan 1901. ma passed away at age seventy-two, having been a ‘low for four years. She was the first child born to her parents, followed by seven broth- ers, and two sisters. When she was seven, her parents ‘moved to Orange, Franklin, Mass. When the missionaries brought the gospel into their lives, they embraced it wholeheartedly. ‘They desired to be with the Saints. Leaving a comfortable home, and with Eunice large with child, they journeyed west. While camping in Van Buren County, Iowa, their fourth child was bora, They were living in Nauvoo, for the fifth and sixth children. In Nauvoo, they were rebaptized on 15 Aug 1841. On 2 Jan 1846, both Eunice and Samuel had their endowments and were sealed on 30 Jan 1846, On 15 Jun 1847 a camp was organized to come to Salt Lake City. It was the first hundred, Daniel Spencer was Captain, "The third ‘Ten with Elijah K, Fuller as Capt and William M. Lemon as clerk was the company the Moore family was listed with. ‘They left Winter Quarters 17 Jun and arrived in Salt Lake City 24 Sep 1847. Eunice was ‘once again with child. On 7 Mar 1848, she gave birth to twin girls. Both died young, ‘With the commandment to practice polygamy, Samuel wok a second wife, seventeen-year-old Mary Caroline Hawk on 7 Apr 1850. Five children were born to them, three dying as children. Eunice had one more child, a son who died at age four and a half. Records also show that Samuel had two more wives without more children. Samuel passed away 11 Oct 1883 in Provo. Eunice passed away at age eighty-three in Scipio, Millard County, having been a widow for six years.
