Kohuth Retirement Statement
Kohuth Retirement Statement
It is with a deep sense of pride and personal satisfaction that I publicly announce my
retirement from the law enforcement arena. After serving thirty-three years in this fine
profession, twenty five years as a member of the Pennsylvania State Police, and the last
eight years as the Chief of Police in Whitehall Township, I am opting to retire on Friday
May 27, 2011.
It has been an honor and a privilege to be affiliated with the men and women of the
Whitehall Township Bureau of Police, as well as the members of the Pennsylvania State
Police. Likewise it has been a privilege to serve the citizens of Whitehall Township and
the many citizens from throughout the Lehigh Valley region that I have come to know
and serve over the many years.

Throughout my career I have been fortunate to work closely with many professionals
including our criminal justice and law enforcement partners in the Federal, State, County
and Municipal sectors. I have also enjoyed a close working relationship with members of
the news media throughout the entire region.
I wish to acknowledge and thank Whitehall Township Mayor Edward D. Hozza, Jr.,
Deputy Mayor John D. Meyers, Board of Commissioners President Linda K. Snyder and
all of the Whitehall Township Commissioners for their encouragement and unwavering
support during the past eight years.
I am confident that the proud serving members of the Whitehall Police will continue to
perform their duties in the finest law enforcement tradition.
I look forward to taking the summer off, to spending more time with my wife Karen and
our family, and to the new found freedom to pursue other interests and challenges.
