To whom it may concern,

Kathrine Toft (born Nov 6th 1989) has asked me for a reference about her time as a student at
Hasseris Gymnasium & IB School, which I am going to write with pleasure.

As the school’s IB Coordinator I have known Kathrine since she was accepted to the school in
August 2007. Right from the beginning, Kathrine demonstrated a high academic standard, and
throughout the course she worked diligently in order to reach her goal of obtaining an IB Diploma
that would allow her to study at a university abroad. She graduated with a fine result in July 2009.

For Kathrine it was uncomplicated to adapt to the school’s educational strategy of group works. She
is very capable when it comes to working together with her fellow students, as a group leader as
well as someone who listens and evaluates the quality of other people’s ideas. She takes in good
ideas of others and adjusts her own work and opinions accordingly, but she also has the courage to
reject new ideas when necessary, and instead guide her group into the right direction.

In this context Kathrine uses her excellent communication skills. She is capable of being assertive
by expressing her opinions and presenting her ideas in a clear and well structured manner, no matter
if in English or in her mother tongue, Danish.

During her time at Hasseris Gymnasium Kathrine Toft has proven to be a thoroughly responsible
and reliable person in relation to her school work, both individually and as part of a group, and also
through her CAS programme where especially her community related projects demonstrated
empathy and sensitivity towards those she worked for and together with.

All in all I regard Kathrine Toft as a committed and trustworthy person with great leadership
potential and excellent communication skills. I give her my best recommendations.
