Connotation – a channel for teaching culture through language

Main aims:
- Discuss the relation between language and culture and role of connotation
in teaching culture through language.
- Present techniques to teach cultural connotation for Vietnamese students
in language classes.
- Provide topics, linguistic materials and other sources for classroom
activities in teaching connotation.
- The study is intended to be used as a course-book on language and culture
or a reference book for Vietnamese students of English in both extensive
and intensive course.

Methods:
Qualitative methods:
- Observation (both participant and non-participant)
- Field notes
- Interviews (structured and unstructured)
- Analysis of documents and materials
