The Inclusion of Wudhoo in Ghusl

This is based upon the Hadith of Jabir ibn ‘Abdillah , who reported that the people of
At-Ta’if said: “O, Messenger of Allah! Our land is cold, so what will suffice us as way of
washing due to sexual impurity?” He , said: “ As for me , I pour water over my head three
times 1

A’ishah , said, “The Messenger of Allah , did not perform Wudhoo after making
Ghusl." 2

The Great scholar of Hadith Shaikh Al-Albani (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:
“One concludes from them (i.e the two narrations) that he , used to pray with a Ghusl
(bath) which did not include Wudhoo in it nor after it and Allaah knows better 3

Ibn `Umar , said to a man who had told him that he performed Wudhoo after Ghusl,
"You went too far."

If one is in both a state of minor and major ritual impurity, then a Ghusl suffices to lift
both. (Nihayat al-Muhtaj v. 1, p. 230; Tuhfat al-Muhtaj v. 1, p. 286)

It should be noted that, if one’s ablution is nullified (like by touching the private parts)
while making Ghusl, then he may complete the Ghusl (it is valid). However, one must still
perform ablution afterwards. (Mughni al-Muhtaj v. 1, p. 224)
