MALAWI
It’s a country in southeast Africa that was
formerly known as Nyasaland. It is bordered
by Zambia to the northwest, Tanzania to the
northeast, and Mozambique on the east,
south and west. Its capital is Lilongwe.
The most important lake is Lake Malawi.
This lake, the third largest in Africa and the
eighth largest in the world, is located between
Malawi, Mozambique and Tanzania.
The President is Bingu wa Mutharika and the
Vice President is Joyce Banda. Currently the
population is of 15,028,757 inhabitants. The
official languages are English and Chichewa.
SOUTH AFRICA
It’s a country located at the southern of Africa,
with a 2,798 kilometres coastline on
the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. It is bordered
by Namibia, Botswana
and Zimbabwe to the
north and to the east
by Mozambique
and Swaziland.
Its capitals are Pretoria,
Bloemfontein and
Cape Town.
The population is of
49,991,300
inhabitants
approximately.
Now the President
is Jacob Zuma and
the Deputy
President is
Kgalema
Motlanthe. The
largest city is
Johannesburg.
South Africa is known for a diversity in cultures and
languages. Eleven official languages are recognized
in the constitution. They are Afrikaans, English,
Ndebele, Northern, Sotho, Swazi, Tswana, Tsonga,
Venda, Xhosa and Zulu.
TANZANIA
It’s a country in central East Africa bordered
by Kenya and Uganda to the north,
Rwanda, Burundi and the Democratic Republic
of the Congo to the west, and Zambia, Malawi
and Mozambique to the south. The country's
eastern
borders lie
on the Indian
Ocean.
Since 1996, the
official capital has
been Dodoma.
The largest city in
the country is Dar
es Salaam.
The official
languages are
Swahili and
English.
The population in 2009 was of 43,739,000
inhabitants. The head of state is President
Jakaya Kikwete, elected in 2005 and the Prime
Minister is Mizengo Pinda.
