Proposal
• Youth Knowledge Network, Taiwan (YKN)
is an NGO established in 2002.
• It is originated from the AJET project,
sponsored by Ministry of Education.
• The mission of YKN is to bridge the
digital divide by building
global learning circles.
Culture Curio Cabinet
• Culture Curio Cabinet (CCC) established b
y YKN represented Taiwan in EU Netdays.
• Between 2003 and 2009, CCC has been
trying to build Asian and Europe
learning circle.
• Now we are progressed to
Australia and New Zeland.
CCC Volun-Tourism
• The CCC culture volunteer team is
composed of students majorly from
– Kaohsiung Girls’ Senior High School
– Different colleges and universities
– YKN Elite Volunteer Corps (students younger
than 16)
– YKN Mentor Network
Purpose
• To promote Taiwan culture
• To promote Chinese teaching and learning
• To research and develop Chinese teaching
curricula through tele-communication
• To enhance understanding and on-going
collaboration between
schools
• To bridge aboriginal groups
Chinese Teaching
• Survey the need
• Specialization in
– Chinese characters (big 5)
– Calligraphy
– idioms
– and reading.
• CALL (Computer Assisted Language
Learning)
• Culture Learning Circle
(especially aboriginal culture)
Teacher Involvement
• Assist with the need analysis
• Assist with video conferences
